Dr. Samuel K. Riffell
STARKVILLE, MS: Dr. Samuel K. Riffell went to be with the Lord on August 11 in Starkville, Mississippi.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Angela Riffell; and daughters Hannah and Abigail of Starkville; additional survivors are parents Paul and Janis Riffell of Wilmore; brother Ben (Renee) Riffell; and nephews Nathan, Nicholas and Noah of Wilmore.
He was a dedicated family man and also an admired coach in his girls' soccer league. His Christian life was exemplary.
Dr. Sam graduated from Adena High School (Ross Co., Ohio), Asbury University, Baylor University and Michigan State University. He was employed by Mississippi State University in the position of Coordinator of Undergraduate Programs through the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Aquaculture. Dr. Riffell was a noted educator, an associate professor at the College of Forest Resources (Mississippi State), ecologist, and accomplished field researcher.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Sam and I grew up in the same neighborhood together. Our families knew each other very well. I will never forget the times playing ball together in his driveway. Good man!! Good friend!! Forever missed!!
