I wore your bracelet for several years while you were captive, I saw you walk off that plane bringing you home, I sent you the bracelet with your name on it. I am so proud to have seen you return, god bless you and your family. It saddens me to know your gone. Pattidon4346@hotmail.com

I just finished American Patriot.I served in the US Army, vietnam as a grunt, and find it ironic that I had a POW bracelet of Lt.Col.George E Day.I am disappointed that I never had the pleasure of meeting you.May you rest in peace.

Americans need to read more stories about this Man and Patriot and the example his life provides us.

Having lived in this area for many years I thought of Colonel Day as one of us. I always followed with interest the many activities he was involved with as he continued to serve his community and fellow citizens. The week of his death I sat each morning with the newspaper and read about his accomplishments...the joys and sorrows that his family endured and I was moved to tears each morning as I read about this true hero of a man. I was so honored that his family allowed us to share in and be a part of this very personal time for them. The love and respect that they shared for this great man was so evident in the stories that were shared. Thank you for allowing us to see yet another side of one of the bravest men to ever serve our great country. His love of God, Country, and Family will live on in our hearts forever. May God give you comfort and His perfect peace. Thank you Day Family....for your sacrifice and service to America.

I am sorry for your loss. Colonel Day was a true hero and a great American. I was hoping to meet him this fall during my trip to Florida. Now I will visit Barracas and pay my respects. We have so few men of his caliber and he will be missed. Misty's forever!

I'm sorry for your loss. Col Day left a legacy few could emulate, but more importantly, he raised a loving and caring family all could admire. I'm sure he was cleared VFR direct to heaven.
