I miss my Mom so very much. But the memories I hold will help me. Mom was always there for me. I remember in grade 6, she volunteered to help out on a school outing. I was so proud she was there. Over the years, I can still hear her telling me how proud of me she was (and my sisters too). When she visited Becki and I in Denver one time, she came to watch me play hockey (just a rec league). The game went to a shootout. I was the 5th shooter, game tied, my goal would end it. Well, I skated down from center ice, did my impression of faking the goalie out, and lo and behold the puck went behind him. Well, you would have thought I had just scored the winning goal for Canada in the Olympics based on Mom's reaction. I still see her standing in the stands and cheering. After the game, she kept telling everyone that I was her daughter. Yes, she was like that.
Mom was so giving of herself to others. Her volunteering over the years speak volumes to that. I am just so proud to have had her as my Mom. I love her dearly. Closing my eyes and remembering our last hug - and yes Mom, I will miss you so very, very much.
