John Brennan Obituary

John E. "Jack" Brennan, a resident of Beverly Hills, FL from 1999 to 2013, passed away on June 13
at his home in Austin, Texas.
A cribbage player in his leisure hours over many decades, Jack had beaten his daughter in a game earlier that morning.
Jack was born on June 19, 1931 in Evanston, Illinois, to his parents John T. and Marguerite (Quinn) Brennan. He was raised in Evanston and Jersey City, New Jersey, where he attended parochial school and was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Manhattan College in the Bronx, NY, and was drafted into the Army, where he served for two years while stationed in Germany.
Jack and his family lived for many years in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, where he worked at the nearby Acushnet Company - manufacturer of Titleist golf balls and clubs - as a human resource leader. Later in his career he filled a similar role for the Griffin Well Service of El Campo, Texas.
Jack is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann; sons John, William, and Michael, all of Austin, Texas; daughters Elizabeth Cox of Sarasota, Florida, and Eileen Bayers of Brooklyn, New York; daughters-in-law Anne Bichteler and Lynn Knox; sons-in-law Paul Wheeler, Chip Bayers, and James Cox; and grandchildren Gregory, David, and Mary Wheeler. His daughter Katherine Wheeler, who died in 2010, was a longtime resident of Inverness with her husband and children.
Jack's family requests that donations in his memory, as well as that of daughter Kate, be made to the Jolly Rancher Fund, Pleasant Grove Elementary School, 630 Pleasant Grove Rd, Inverness, FL 34452, serving children in need in the Inverness schools.

I am sorry for your loss. May prayer comfort you.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
