I lived with Dr. Ach's family when I came to the United States in 1938 when I was 11 years old. I came from Germany and lived with he and his family. I am saddened to hear of Jay's death. It sounds like he was a very special person and doctor. What a difference he made in this world! My condolences to his wife and family. With warm wishes, Ellen Kasper Kisslinger

Dr. Ach was my doctor in 1988 and he was such a sweet and kind doctor. I wish all doctors had his bedside manner, He will be truly missed. My prayers are with you and your family.

I just learned of Jay's passing. Needless to say, I all but cried after talking to his wife, two boys and daughter-in-law. I knew his wife, Jo, well; I had only met Jay once but was bowled over with his wonderful outlook and humor. I feel very embarrassed that I didn't realize he had died over 1 month ago. Jay, you will be sorely missed and Jo, I've said it to you before - please call if you need anything. I think by now you know how much I adore you. Dave Hakes

Dr. Ach literally saved my life when I was just 6 years old. He had just started into practice with Dr. Ralph Cunningham, in Reading. I needed surgery that, at that time, had never been performed in Cincinnati. When other doctors were not sure what to do, Dr. Ach contacted several out of town colleagues and after consultation I had the surgery - and I'm still here nearly 60 yrs later! That was in the 1950's and he remained our family physician until his retirement. For several years, while my Grandmother was still alive, he tended to 4 generations of our family. When my Father passed away in December of '03, Dr. Ach attended Dad's visitation on crutches from having knee surgery. He was a remarkable man, extremely intelligent, insightful, and way ahead of his time. Over the years he did so much for us, from house calls to taking phone calls in the middle of the night. I am also grateful to him for introducing our family to Dr. Christopher Sweeney who is carrying on Dr. Ach's fine tradition of amazing medicine. We owe so much gratitude to Dr. Ach and will never forget his kindness, understanding, wit, and his strict and straightforward manner of giving orders - from his heart.
