His family and our family came up to Indiana at the same time. Our fathers from Ohio worked together in Anchor's Mould shop. Our mothers viewed each other as sisters and we were raised like brothers and sisters. When my brother Phil was little, he was born with a stomache obstruction, bananas were rationed during WWII, Juanita (your mom) would go to Mayora McCoy's grocery and get her share of bananas and give them to my mother for Phil. Then in your 7th year, Don had rheumatic fever-which worried everyone. Then, when we were in HS, you played the saxophone and I played the clarinet....don't think we ever took a blue ribbon for the band! The Hoerst family has always been very close to us, the Hawley family. It was always all for one and one for all. Don honorable served the US Navy for 4 years. Out of our graduating class, you were outstanding and truly made something of yourself! He will always be missed in our hearts. I never knew Don to say anything bad about anyone, nor did I ever see him get worked up or mad about anything after knowing him all of my life. Take comfort in knowing that you now have a special guardian angel to look over you everyday of your life.
