Harold T. "Hal", loving husband of Barb for 41 years, devoted father of Erin (Greg) Herman of Elk Grove Village, IL and Jeff (Christa) Hobe of West Chester, OH, dear grandfather of Kathryn and Keira Hobe and Elliott and Cora Herman, brother of Marie (Ron) Zoz of Greenwich, OH, died peacefully on Friday, October 17, at Hospice of Hamilton. Born on October 27, 1946 in Salem, OH, he was an active member of his church, a township Senior Van driver, avid hiker and backpacker, winner of Barb Bossu Lakota High School Volunteer of the Year Award, Lakota Upbeat Band Booster President for several years, and a compassionate friend to many. Hal loved to travel the world with Barb. A retired employee of GE, Hal donated his body to University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine. A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Community UMC, 8320 Cox Rd., West Chester, OH 45069 Wednesday, October 22, at 7:00pm, with visitation starting at 4:00pm. Rev. Norm Coleman officiating. Memorial donations to the Henderson Settlement, www.hendersonsettlement.org

My dear friend, I have searched for you for years and now I found you. From our times in school at West Branch, Coachmen Car Club, making model cars in your basement, our 1 place bowling team you are a great friend. I will see you again with our Lord Jesus. Hal, and I retired together 5 years ago from GE, and stayed in touch even though I live in California. I worked with Hal for over 25 years, and considered him to be one of the finest people I have ever known. Our prayers are with the entire Hobe family during these difficult days. Please take comfort knowing Hal is with the Lord.

Hal was a man who epitomized how to walk a life of faith and grace that was witnessed by his family, his church, his friends and to all those who came into contact with him. I am certain that as he was welcomed into heaven he heard these words from our Father “Well done my good and faithful servant”!
