Ruby Robinson Buckner
Alexander - Ruby Robinson Buckner, age 88 of 80 Buckner Drive died Monday, May 23, 2016.
Mrs. Buckner was born March 4, 1928 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She formerly worked at Hadley Corporation, Mills Manufacturing and retired from Square D in 1990. Mrs. Buckner taught Sunday school for the "Young Girls" class for 30 years. She was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.
Ruby was a daughter of the late Fate and Clora Meadows Robinson and wife of the late Dall Buckner who died in 1996. Also preceding her in death are sisters, Jeanette Lassiter, Robbie Ramsey; brothers, Vono and Wayne Robinson.
Surviving are her daughters, Edith Fender and husband Gary, Nancy Joyce and husband Gilbert, all of Alexander, Helen Webb and husband Bobby of Leicester; son, David Buckner and wife Kathy of Greeneville, TN, Raymond Buckner and wife Patricia of Alexander; sister, Gladys Banks of Asheville; brother, Alonzo Robinson of Leicester; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2016, in Ridgeview Baptist Church with Reverends Gary Fender and Jeffrey Burchette officiating. Burial will be in Ridgeview Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
West Funeral Home, Weaverville is in charge of the services.
Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Ridgeview Baptist Church Bldg. Fund, c/o BR Five 15, Leicester, NC 28784.
