Jean Faraday

Jean Faraday, 88, of Pittston passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, in Guardian Elder Care Center, Nanticoke.

Born in Pittston on June 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Evans Faraday.

She attended Pittston schools and retired from the Potlatch Corp.

She was "Jeannie" to many and "Nana" to those lucky to enough to be in her family. She was a very caring, compassionate woman without a selfish bone in her body who touched everyone she ever met. She was a hard-working, independent woman who enjoyed giving much more than receiving. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed yet forever loved.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Remas Kollar; brothers, William Faraday and Ralph Faraday; and her longtime companion, Tony Fabrizio.

Surviving are her sister, Ethel Delia, Pittston; son-in-law, Richard Kollar, Nanticoke; grandchildren, Jeffrey Remas and his wife, Lynette, Delray Beach, Fla.; Jennifer Williams and her husband, Gerald, Plymouth Township; and Jill Limongelli and her husband, Daniel, Bear Creek; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, Spring Street, West Pittston.

Entombment will be in Denison Mausoleum, Swoyersville.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
