To the family, I was fortunate to have Mrs. McElhaney as my teacher for the 5th, 6th and in junior high school. I think she loved our class as for the reason she kept moving up with us. What a great lady. She will always be my favorite teacher. She will be missed by many.
Mike, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. My condolences and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
My prayers with this family, Mrs.MCELHANEY taught me at Hawkins Junior High school, she was so nice...
My sisters and I went to George Hurst (Demontration School) on the USM campus and my sister Nedra was fortunate to be taught by Ms. McElhaney in the 5th grade. I was not because the schools were redistricted and I ended up in the 5th grade at Grace Christian. Even though I alway thought Ms. Elelhaney was the "cream of the crop" of the Hattiesburg School System. My Dad, George Ford, thought the sun rose and set on Ms. Elehaney as a teacher, and I hated I missed being in her class. To her family, thank you for her service to the kids of Hattiesburg, and for what it is worth, my Dad said it best-She was the Best!!!!! Thank you, Regina Ford
Mike and Family - I'm so sorry to hear of Ms. McElhaney's passing. Wishing for you peace and comfort in your memories.
Mrs. McElhaney was one of my favorite teachers at Hawkins Jr. High. She was very special and I will always remember her being a lady who loved fashion. I'm praying that God can give her family peace and comfort during this time.
My thoughts and prayers are with the McElhaney family.
Mrs. McElhaney was one of my favorite teachers at George Hurst Elementary. She carried a huge purse and we all fought to carry it for her.
I remember Mrs. McElhaney from George Hurst, she was such a lovely lady. School was fun and interesting when she was my teacher.
May the light of heaven shine on you grave.
