To Jean Turner and her family,
with love,

Amy Cleveland Grenfell
December 08, 2012
I remember Jean Turner as my former mother-n-law, Betty Bass's sister. She
was the epitome of the graceful lady of The South. She was always a delight to see, charming, with a wonderful sense of humor. She spoke more slowly and delicately than any lady I had ever
heard, with a surprising witticism, often lilting forth. She was truly loved by her two sisters and her brother. It was wonderful that Jean
and Betty joined one another as sisters again, holding hands, at St.
Catherine's Village. I have remembered
her to my daughter, Mallory, this Christmas. Jean always gave the very
welcome gift of sets of Christmas ornaments, and I had offered to share
some with Mallory as she begins her new marriage in June. I did not even know that day, last Monday, that Jean
was to pass the next day. I dearly loved her. She will be missed greatly
by me and my children, but remembered
each year as we trim our trees. My
heart goes out to Dick and Patsy and their boys, and to Ed and Betsy Holcomb, and to Abby, her beloved sister.
