My sympathy goes out to the family during your time of grief. May God's loving-kindness comfort you and help you through this difficult time. (Psalm 119:50,76)

Dr. Field is one of Tulane School of Medicine's finest physicians. He was truly dedicated to our school and to our students. He will be sorely missed. I am grateful that I had the honor of knowing him. He gentle spirit, kindness, compassion and commitment were all readily seen and felt. My deepest sympathy and prayers for his wife Betty, his son Richard J. Field III, MD and the entire family. Cynthia Hayes, Executive Director, Tulane Medical Alumni Association

My Uncle Dick. I am flooded with memories of his strength, his love, his compassion, his wonderful stories, his boundless humor, his spirited competitiveness, and his generosity of spirit to everyone he encountered. He has left us all a legacy of what it is to be a caring and compassionate physician, a true Christian who practiced what he believed, an innovative and involved member of his community and profession, and a loving, devoted father, husband and ebullient member of a very close knit extended family. How I loved him! My heart is with you all today as we celebrate his glorious life and what he meant to all of us.

We had the honor and pleasure of getting to know Dr. Fileds and Miss Betty when our family (Ubons) was invited to spend the weeknd at thier home during a BBQ competition weekend in Centerville. A true southern gentleman indeed. He loved his family and community and you could certainly tell everyone loved him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dr. Dick will certainly be missed. His influence was felt in so many aspects of life in Centreville during my teen years there. The family members are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure he and all the other Dr.s Fields and my mom, Doris Nickel, can now share all the memories of days at "The Field Clinic".
