Al memory lives in my heart always

June 9, 2015

My wife and I had searched for Al on Facebook and Google several times over the years, without success.

We are so saddened and surprised to find him now via his funeral page.

Eternal be his memory.

Albert and I were roommates in college for a couple of years in Austin, while I attended UT and Albert attended classes at a Presbyterian seminary.

So sad we never got to reconnect before his passing.

I have known Al in Sarasota for about 15 years. He was an extremely committed Christian and was always trying to connect Christians to other Christians. He loved to memorize scripture and recite it. He was responsible for promoting several Christian films as they debuted. Al struggled in areas but he relied on Almighty God and He always saw Al through.

Right now, Al is rejoicing. This is what he has been waiting for, wrapped in the loving arms of our Jesus. You are home Al. I can't wait to see you!

I have known Al for 17 years. We participated in many Christian singles groups together. He loved to sing and the first time that made an impression on me was when he asked the singles group at Lilly's apartment where we were meeting if we could be his audience to sing A Might Fortress is Our God in acapella. It was amazing, he later gave me the recording he did on this which I cherish. I've cooked for Al, helped him move from his Bradenton apartment, he helped me by staying with my dad when I needed a night aid, he's been at my house several times and he talked a lot about his love for his family. We have heard his excitement and heartfelt desires when family visits were close approaching. He was a very passionate man.
