Goodbye dad. Until i see you again. Rest in peace. Love janine
To Gene, his family and community,
I have been privileged to know Gene and benefited from his wise council on a range of education reform issues relevant to the success of teaching and learning and community engagement.
Gene's exceptional diverse background afforded him opportunities to distinguish his work from conventional thinking in search of the next big thing.
His artful and direct commentary gave voice to those routinely discounted in non-affluent communities through the country. We shall all miss him but never forget his ability to decode what matters most in life and education reform.

As the days pass since my brother has been gone I go back to Cleveland growing up.we had agreat time with our parents on Blanche rd. The everyday baseball game on the street, going to the Dairy Queen and the countless friends over the house. The everlasting pictures of our youth is endless.
The memories help but they cannot mask the void that is there. We all love you and miss you.
A life cut prematurely short, but a legacy and a spirit whose light will be forever bright
My dear brother Gene, you did more in your life than most people could ever imagine. From childhood, you always had a thirst for knowledge and looked for challenges in every aspect of your life. You were a true innovator in all that you did and that continued into adulthood with your endless endeavors. You worked endlessly with great passion and commitment in every aspect of your life. You cared deeply about children, fighting for their education in every way that you could. I will miss you beyond measure. Rest in peace dear Gene. You will forever remain in my heart,
