Thank you for leaving us such a strong and beautiful body of work, Ms. Catlett! Wishing you a peaceful journey...
I have always admired her portrayal of strong African-American and Mexican women All that she did for social justice took a lot of courage.

A real icon of humanity has left us, but through her creative genius, her wise, frank and honest discourse and her courage; she has left us richer.
Her example of devoted love for Pancho, her sons, and her grandchildren taught us much about unconditional love.
She earned her space on this earth.
We will miss her,
Aaronetta and Joseph Pierce

I absolutely loved Elizabeth Catlett's work. When her exhibit arrived at the Cleveland Museum of Art, my mom and I witnessed the powerful beauty and simplicity of her work...
Her life will live on through her art! Art is life!
Ms. Catlett's obiturary was so beautiful. Interestingly, I had never heard of her prior to today. What a story of courage, determination and love for people. She is continuing to be a source of strength for others even in death. May our heavenly father be a source of continued comfort at this time. What a delight it will be see her in paradise as Jesus promised.
