To my dear friends, Rosi, Angie, Monica, and Marla,
At this difficult time, I want to express my sincere sympathy and deep gratitude. I will always be grateful that you generously shared your wonderful parents with me throughout childhood and beyond. Your father and mother were two very special people who molded four little girls into incredible, independent women.
Many will remember John DiFini as a kind-hearted, fair, hard-working businessman. This was an important role, but the most significant legacy he leaves behind is that of an outstanding father. Raising so many daughters, it was my great fortune that John never noticed that “extra girl” running around his house and infiltrating his life.
Daily, I share my childhood memories with my sons, and invariably I begin with, “The DiFinis and I ….” The small things that John did as a dad made the biggest impact on all of us. I can still picture him returning home from work with bags and bags of McDonald's hamburgers – enough for all his girls and any other miscellaneous neighborhood children! John made sure his daughters (and their friends) never missed a local carnival or fair. And, what I wouldn't give to have another pair of those “orange peel glasses” hand-crafted by John DiFini!
Mr. DiFini, your children and grandchildren indeed know the meaning of true and unending love.
Sharing in your sorrow,
