ABAD JORGE R. ABAD, 71. Beloved husband of Violet (nee Abramikas) for 50 years; dear father of Ramon (Claudia), Lisa (Jim) Johnson, George (Debbie) and Michael (Ana); dear brother of Tito and Chiqui; grand-father of 13. Jorge was born on July 2, 1940 in Panama City, Republic of Panama and went to our Heavenly Father on Nov. 20. Jorge was a Chemical Engineer with degrees from University of Illinois (BS), University of Tulsa (MS) and Cleveland State University (MBA). In retirement Jorge was a volunteer translator at the Cleveland Clinic and a substitute teacher at Bay High School. Memorial contributions may be forwarded to Retirement Fund for Religious National Religious Retirement Office, 3211 Fourth St. NE, Washington, D.C. 20017-1194. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Raphael Church, 525 Dover Center Rd., Bay Village, 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 (MEET AT CHURCH). I was so sorry to hear about Jorge's passing. I was viewing Judith Tudhope's obituary when I saw Jorge's name. I still remember your wedding to this day and how very lovely and happy you both were on that day.

We are so very saddened, just heard this news today. Jorge was such a special man. His love of life and robust spirit made him such a pleasure to be with. Jorge - we miss you!
Violet, Lisa and family, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
PS. Jorge taught our boys how to eat a grapefruit at an Indians Guides campout several years ago and to this day they bring up Jorge's name everytime they have grapefruit.....he touched so many in so many different ways.
