Miss Emery was an alumna of St. Paul School, Class of 1935 (grades one through eight in those years), in Salem, Ohio, and a dear family friend. Through the kindness of a niece who brought her, Mary Louise was able to return to Salem several years ago to attend my mother's 100 birthday party. For this we are very grateful. Our family extends its deepest sympathy to her extended family of whom she always spoke so highly.

I took piano lessons from her as a child for about 8 years from 1972-1980. Miss Emery was one of the most kindest and sweetest people I ever had the opportunity to be associated with. She touched so many people through her gift of music.

Please accept my condolences during your time of great sadness. May you cherish fond memories to cope with the pain from day to day. Take note of the comforting words at 1Thessalonians 4:14, the beautiful hope of seeing your loved one again.

On behalf of the Rocky River Chamber Music Society, I would like to send our sincere condolences to the family of Mary Louise Emery. Most of the current board of trustees did not know Mary Louise, but certainly knew of her legacy as one of the founding trustees. Without people like her, this institution would never have reached its 60th anniversary this year. Clearly her love of music permeated not only her professional and volunteer lives, but also her family benefited from her knowledge of and passion for the fine arts. The tributes paid by her family show that Mary Louise lived a long life filled with happiness and joy. May you all find comfort in a life so well lived.
