Mums happy and peaceful visit to beautiful Barkersvale in 2002.

Mum loved dancing. When I would visit her in Canley Heights I'd play the old Italian records that we grew up with in the 1960s - Connie Francis, Bongo Cha cha and the italian records I bought in Italy - and we danced. She always had a big smile on her face - she was a good dancer - thats where I get it from. I'm still playing the songs and dancing! Thanks mum love Roberto xxxooo

What can I say about the most important women in my life - my mother Lily. She was the most amazing woman I have ever known and I will be forever grateful that she was my mother. She touched many peoples lives and all who knew her were better for it. Her wisdom, her sense of humour and her inner strength shone through in her beautiful smile and warm and gentle eyes. Mum I will miss you forever and saying goodbye has been the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Your memory will be in my heart forever until I meet you and dad again. Your loving daughter Laura (Lala) xoxoxox

Another war story of mum's was to do with her marriage to dad. He was in the Royal Airforce and flew in the Lancaster Bombers. He had to get permission to marry from the wing commander of the airforce base. Mum was considered to be Italian (well yes!); and at the time they were enemies of the allies. The solution was to record her as Maltese (allies of the allies) and they could change it back at the end of the war. In true Wirth fashion they never got around to it.
