Don was one of those rare men who was "a legend in his own time." He was an innate leader who "walked the talk," and his faculty/staff at LPHS not only respected him, but loved him as well. He had many endearing qualities and one of those was his obsession with hot cars---his automobiles were NEVER dirty, and you could always see your reflection in the finish. He told compelling tales about his annual motorcycle trips with his beloved brother, and was an engagingly natural storyteller. Everyone wanted to be around Don; he was a man of integrity, humor, and sincerity. I am comforted knowing memories of Don are so valued by those he touched that he will never be forgotten. I am proud to have taught under his leadership at LPHS, and to have called him a friend. I am not referencing his height when I say he was a giant of a man!
