Happy Birthday in heaven Miss White. I sent you a card but did not know you had gone to heaven until yesterday. I'm so happy that Jim and I came by to visit when we were in Denver last - it was such a wonderful time.
I remember being a student of yours at CWC in 1970. You took me under your wings. You were so full of valuable information and oh so funny.
This world was better with you in it but now you are at eternal rest.
I will miss your informative Christmas letters and your beautiful voice.
So very fortunate to have known you....till we meet again.

Exie White was singularly esteemed on campus. Her reputation as an excellent educator had people from all departments and majors inexplicably interested in biology and plants. Her snowy white hair added an air of wisdom that was proved in her mastery as a professor. I hope she knew how many lives she touched for the better. Godspeed Exie White.

What a hoot I had in her class during January term while attending CWC. Learing from her about all the edible plants on campus and all around was something I hold dear to my heart all these years later! I have had my book since 1/1977 and can grab it right off my shelf. Favorite time was making something with my group and we said how we did not feel so good after. She asked if we had cooked one of the ingredients and we were, "no, missed that step." Rest in Peace my dear Exie. I think of you often and I KNOW you are up there and hope you introduce yourself to my mom, Dorothy Chinatti!

She was such a guiding light and inspiration to so many of us who attended CWC.

Exie became a dear friend to me in the last 10 years of her life and I so enjoyed her bright wit, her endless curiosity, and the wealth of information she shared generously. I will miss her and our conversations, and feel her memory as a great gift in this life, as do many, many others.

May the God of all comfort sustain your family during the days ahead Psalms 119:76

Please accept my sincere condolences dear family and friends. May prayers strengthen you and memories comfort you. And may you find hope and comfort in God our Father, who loves us, comfort your hearts and "make you firm". (2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17).

Exie White on her 100th birthday just before standing to give a 30 minute speech. What a role model for ageing with grace and panache!
