Today I finished reading the book Unbroken. I had never heard of this man before this book. Oh the emotions that roared in me while reading this story. I wanted to reach in between the pages and punch and kick those who had harmed Louie. What all he suffered, surely he has a wonderful fluffy cloud to whisk around on in Heaven. May this man rest in eternal peace. God knows he's earned it. Thank you Louie for all you and the others did for our country. There were none braver.

My deepest condolences to all his family and friends. God Bless You All.

It is uncanny that the very day I finished reading "Unbroken", Louis Zamperini passed away. His story will not be forgotten...as it speaks for so many brave Americans in WWII. It is unbelievable what the human spirit can achieve...He led an astonishing life on so many levels...may he now finally rest in total peace. My prayers and sympathy to the family he leaves behind.

I have just finished reading Mr. Zamperini's extraordinary story of survival against the harshest of conditions, the brutalities of war and the battles with his darkest demons. The word "amazing" doesn't quite cover the events of this man's life. I can't even imagine the strength of will and soul to endure and, eventually, exit from the dungeons of nightmares and hate with such a forgiving heart. Long may his tale be told, and his legend remain. RIP, Mr Zamperini.

To have endured suffering as he and so many war veterans suffered is so sad. One day God will eliminate all war and suffering. To the family and friends you have my deepest sympathy. May Mr. Zamperini finally sleep in peace.

Words can not express my gratitude for your service to our country and all you had to put up with in your captivity. May you rest in peace my friend.

Those who served during WWII are called "The Greatest Generation" for a reason. Don't know why it has taken so long to have these stories told. How many more stories have yet to be told? The USA and the entire free world owes ALL veterans our deep gratitude for their brave and honorable service. That goes for those who survived and those who died in ALL wars for our freedom.
Deepest sympathy to his family. May you feel God's comfort until the day you see him again in the eternal Heaven.

My sincere condolences to the family of Louis Zamperini. As those of his generation pass on I am becoming more aware of what a huge impact WWII left on history. I had four uncles serving our country in different parts of the world and used to be amazed at family gatherings how much the war meant to my grandparents and their children.
Now 69 years since the end of the war, and my having just finished the book "Unbroken", I am gaining some better insight. God bless that generation for doing what they had to do to save civilization itself. Thank you Mr. Zamperini for your sacrifices and for your great example.
