To the Struauss Family:
I am Sarah Brown Renstrom and My sister Martha Brown Brusegar has already left you a message, but I will write an addendum. Because of my father's job at Pollock Paper, we were connected to the Strauss family (via Leslie Jacobs) in a social way. Mr. Strauss and Pollock Paper were so incredibly generous and thoughtful when our father died in 1955. As Martha says, we still remember it all these years later. He was my mother's lawyer and helped her figure out the next steps she needed to take. She was suddenly a widow at age 38 with two daughters to raise alone. He was not only an incomprable public servant, but a kind and thoughtful man in his private life. We shall not see the likes of him again. If I am feeling sad, I can imagine the grief of you, his family. He had a long full life, something we have wished for our own father. Treasure your memories.
