So sorry to hear of the loss of this fine young man. I didn't know him, but knew his dad well at Humboldt State. I am so saddened to learn of this news, knowing full well the impact it must have on the family. Jeff Sr., my heart goes out to you and yours.

I didn't know you but I saw your stone in Memorial Gardens when we (Cub Scouts) were placing flags behind the stones of veterans. As a mother of four my heart fell when I read your stone. My 7 year old cub scout saluted you and I cleaned your stone and prayed for your mother. Even still typing these words I am moved by your sacrifice and that of your family. This Memorial Day I want to thank you personally for your service and tell you how sorry I am that your young life ended before it really even began. You will hold a special place in my heart and I will pray for your mother every time I think of you. You will not be forgotten.

To my precious nephew Jeffrey: I miss you and love you and am so blessed that you were in our lives even though it was not long enough. You were a wonderful boy and young man and I have such fond memories of you and the times we got together as family. We had some good times with lots of laughter and you were always so thoughtful and considerate. I'll never forget the time you and Jimmy came for Christmas in Grandpa's car and we could here you coming five miles away and wondered what that noise was and I looked out the window and it was my nephews in their tricked out vehicle. Love you forever.

When I think back on my memories of Jeffrey I remember babysitting for him and his older brother when I was in high school. We always had a good time watching movies or playing games. Babysitting Jimmy and Jeffrey never seemed like a chore or a "job" to do because they were both great kids and good people which made it enjoyable to spend time with them. Jeffrey will be missed sorely. We can rest assured in the fact that nothing can separate Jeffrey or any of us from the love of Christ.
