Myrna Hauzenberger Obituary

MYRNA LOUISE HAUZENBERGER
February 26, 1930 ~ April 5, 2017

Myrna Louise Hauzenberger, 87, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 26, 1930 to Leroy and Bertha Ecoff in Winchester, ID. Her family later moved to Camas, WA. She graduated from Washougal High School in 1948.
As a youth, Myrna participated in Rainbow Girls and the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed playing softball. One of her favorite activities was to swim in the Sandy swimming hole on the Washougal River. Her interest in swimming led her to belong to a swim club with her school friends.
Holding numerous jobs throughout her life, Myrna first worked as a head cashier in the theaters in Camas and Washougal. She worked for Consolidated Freightways in Portland, held a part-time job at BPA doing inventory, and worked at Buick Motors in Portland. Myrna was later hired at Kaiser Permanente where she worked her way up to becoming the Accounts Payable supervisor. After devoting 25 years to Kaiser, she retired in 1992.
Myrna remained active after retirement. She enjoyed participating in Sons of Norway activities, helping with fundraisers and would be seen often walking her dogs around her neighborhood. For the last three years, Myrna loved participating in activities, especially Bean Bag Baseball with her friends at Glenwood Place Senior Living.
Traveling the world was a passion. Some of her passport stamps would show Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Canada, Mexico and cruising the Bahamas. With each trip, she would add to her spoon collection. Despite her international and state travels, one of her favorite locations to visit was Long Beach, WA.
Myrna is survived by her four children, Linda Oxley (Terry), Michael Hauzenberger (RobbieJo), Steven Hauzenberger (Cindy), and Teresa Ferrell (Jerry), all of Vancouver, WA; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her siblings, Mervyn Ecoff (Marion) and Hazel Reude (Ron); and her companion, Joe Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert and Gary Ecoff; and her husband, Edward Hauzenberger.
Services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., with viewing time on Friday, April 14, 2017 from noon to 9 p.m.
Donations may be made to the Clark County Humane Society or Susan G. Komen.

She was my Aunt, my Mother's sister. We spent a lot of time with my Aunt Myrna when I was a little girl. I remember going over to her house all the time. We love her very much, although I didn't see her as often as we both grew older, she is always close to my heart. I love you Aunt Myrna, I'll see you again someday. My Love to all her Children and Grandchildren, loss is difficult. Prayers for you all.
