~TO THE POWELL FAMILY~
ALWAYS REMEMBER.......
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

During periods of grief and sorrow, I have always found comfort in the following passage:

The Plan of the Master Weaver...
It reads as follows.......
Our lives are but fine weavings that God and we prepare.
Each life becomes a fabric planned and fashioned in His care.

We may not always see just how the weavings intertwine.
We must trust the Master's hand and follow His design...For He can view the pattern upon the upper side......While we must look from underneath and trust His hand to guide.

Sometimes a strand of sorrow is added to His plan....And though it's difficult for us, we still must understand.......
That it's He who fills the shuttle, it's He who knows what's best.......
So we must weave in patience and leave to Him the rest.

Not till the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly.....
Shall God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why.
The dark threads are as needed in the Weaver's skillful hand......
As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.

Mr. Powell taught me 8th grade English at Melrose High School. He would stand on the top of his desk, raise his umbrella and declare that "ignorance" was falling all around him!
Today, I often raise my umbrella!!

When you return to your daily routine....always remember that "memory" is one gift from God that "death" does not destroy! Cherish your memories of Mr. Powell. His spirit will live with you forever!

Trust in the Almighty God with all of your heart, mind, body, and soul. He is your PROTECTOR, your PROVIDER, your REDEEMER, your DELIVERER, your TOWER OF STRENGTH!!

May the peace of the Lord surround all of you now and forever!

Mr. Powell taught my sister, brother, and
myself English at Melrose. He was a very
dedicated and passionate teacher. He had an intense desire for his students to
get things right in his class. Our sympathies to the family.
