Dearest Sara, my old & wonderful friend, words cannot express how deeply saddened I am to hear about Emmett. Please know how much I love you & that if I had known, I would have been with you through this tragedy. I just cannot believe it. He was someone who emanated light & kindness & was a pure joy to know. You were the only friend who left a message on my father's guest book when he died, and i feel so badly that I could not express my sorrow & offer support to you after this tragedy, especially as you are so often in my thoughts. I will call you very shortly after leaving this message & cannot wait to hear your voice. Bless you, Sara.
Dear Sara and Family,
We are all shocked and saddened by the terrible news of Emmett's passing. I was looking forward to meeting Emmett and the family at Playa Blanca. I knew from talking to him that he was a special person and that the family was close. Words cannot express my despair.

Emmett first contacted us 45 days ago to remodel his 2 condos. My wife and I spent 6 weeks working on them continuously sending him pictures. He was very appreciative and excited to see the changes. He was supposed to meet us on Dec. 8 at 10AM to see the end results. We are extremely sad for his family and quite saddened by the fact he never got to see his 2 remodeled condos. Our most sincere condolences to his family. Charles & America Lucques, PANAMA

My condolences to family and friends of Emmett. I worked for him at my first "real" job out of college and he was a wonderful employer and mentor. He always seemed larger than life but also always made you feel comfortable and significant. God bless you, you're in my thoughts and prayers.
I knew Emmett through my dear friend Sara. I always used to tease Sara that if anything ever happened to her, I would take care of Emmett! She told me that was ok with her because she knew I would take care of Robert and Ruthie as my own. I'd give anything to have this wonderful man back in our lives, but I know that he is in Heaven smiling down on all of us as I write this. God bless Emmett and his family.
Emmett was my boss during the Takeout Taxi years and was someone I held in great esteem. I remember his pleasant personality and infectious smile. He definitely had an influence on my life, and I offer my prayers and condolences to Sara, Ruthie and Robert.
Ms. O'Ryan, Ruthie, and Robert,
I am so sorry to hear about your sudden loss of your husband/father. I remember Emmett as a tall, smiley man. I pray that God will comfort you all during this difficult time.
I knew Emmett in the late 1970's when he lived in Colorado. He was such a pleasure to know, generous with his friendship as well as his smile. I know he will be missed.
Rob Hunt, Durango, Colorado
Marius and I are thinking of you all during this time. You are in our prayers - Nancy
Sarah, Lisa and I are so sorry to hear about Emmett. He was such a great person in every respect. I never saw him without his big grin preceding him wherever he was going. He reminded me so much of his dad, but without the Irish accent.
I know he was a good friend and husband to you, and a great father to Robert and Ruth. And though he may be gone from this life, I am sure he will be with you and your children forever in your hearts and minds.
We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers, and hope you find some consolation in the near future.

Please accept our deepest sympathies as we also remember a great joy to have had Emmett as a Junior Achievement Classroom Volunteers and supporter.
We knew Emmett when he was much younger as we are friends of his older brother, Tom. Emmett always had a smile on his face.

Sarah: I am so sorry for your family's loss. Emmett was a great guy and a joy to all that had the pleasure of knowing him. Although we had lost touch over the last few years after we moved to MO, he was gracious enough to offer tickets in his box to a Grizzlies game when I needed to entertain clients last year. What a guy!!! I am sick that we will miss the funeral as I am in a conference in New Orleans but be sure that you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. May God comfort each of you during the days ahead.
My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to all the O'Ryan family during this terrible time.
I met Emmett at the University of TN in 1970 but lost touch with him after that. I am glad to hear that he built a good life for himself and his family. I could tell he had a lot of potential even in those times. All my sympathies to the O'Ryan family.
An Old Friend,
