HARLAN “Buster” FLY, 83, of Memphis, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, Thursday, August 21, 2014. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 26 at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Dr. Cole Huffman, Pastor of First Evangelical Church, where Buster was a member will preside. Buster was born in Memphis and graduated from Treadwell High School where he was an All-Memphis tailback. Buster was a well respected Master Electrician, former President of he Memphis Electric League and was active with the Memphis Electrical Contractors Association. He owned and operated F&M Electric Company for 40 years. He loved and enjoyed his work and his employees. He was a Korean War veteran in the Air Force, an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the former Bella Vista and Stonebridge Golf Clubs, a competitive water skier, and was President of the Sea Horse Boat Club. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Jean Childers Fly and their daughter Leigh Ann. He is survived by his son, Buzz Fly (Sandra) and two grandsons, Stephen and Jonathan and was in love with his fiancee, Sandy Hartley until his death.
