I first met Jim in Nashville, TN at the CAAS Convention in 2004. I am proud to have known Jim in the time since. He was my friend and brother, and I will miss him greatly.

Meeting Jim and his family at CAAS has been a highlight of my year for 10 years or so, since I first met him through Larry Kuhns and our shared love of guitar music. He was kind and generous, modest, with a lovely sense of humour, always asking, with a twinkle in his eye "why do you speak the language like you hate it?", despite his familiarity with UK accents from his service days in Scotland. Not only did he fight to get to CAAS again this year, but also took on the challenge of the 9-string guitar - see photo. Too soon, my friend, you are very much missed.

Cobble Family-
I was saddened to learn of the loss of your precious Jimmy. When someone we love dies, it leaves and empty spot in our hearts which no one else could ever fill. Soon, in a new world of god's making, all pain, sickness and suffering will all be things of the past. Until then, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
A friend.
