Jimmy Wayne Carrington, 75, resident of Bartlett, TN passed away February 6, 2013 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Jacksonville, AR. June 7, 1937, he was preceded in death by his parents Levi and Edith Carrington. Jimmy served in the Air Force as a flight engineer 1956-1960. A Teamster for 34 years, Jimmy retired in 1994 after serving 12 years as President of Memphis Local 667 and 4 years as Freight Director of the Southern Conference. Jimmy is survived by his wife Jo Carrington, sister Carolee Hopf, 5 children, Steve Carrington, Deidre Burruss, Rusty Carrington, Cindy Jensen and Charlene Hairston, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Visitation will be held at his church, Highland Heights Presbyterian in Cordova, TN at Noon, Saturday, February 9 with Memorial Service following at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland Heights Presbyterian Church Cordova, TN. A Loving Husband, Hero, Champion and Best Friend.
