Frank, it's been a year since we lost you. We got together at your grave with Erick and Hilary. We laid a red-white-blue wreath at your headstone. We placed two matching pinwheels beside the wreath. It would have made you smile. There's always enough wind to spin the pinwheels.
Later we all went to dinner with Saliena and your children. I look in their faces and see you reflected in their smiles. You'd enjoy watching them grow up ... I sense your presence at the dinner table. The other day I offered them some blueberry cake with whipped cream ... they wanted a squirt in their mouths like you used to do for them. Timber stayed with us for a couple weeks, she stayed on the sofa where you'd slept. I'll bet she remembers too.
Erick took a photo of the wreath, headstone and pinwheels. We'll be visiting again soon.

Miss you brother. I almost called your cell phone yesterday wanting to talk and shoot the breeze.

We stopped by last Sunday to lay some daffodils by your new headstone. We wish we could visit more often.

A Thanksgiving without you seemed very hollow indeed.
