I know I am months late, however, I owe so much to Dan. Thanks tohis believing I could do it, I had some of the best times of my life working for hiim during his last city council, and ifrst state campaigns. His political smarts were supported by his beliefs in doing the right thing for others and his life was well lived. Thank you Dan....Sue Portwood

I really liked this man. I am so sorry to see him go.

I was so fortunate to know him and work for his team in the Senate. He treated me like a son. I will miss him. To Barry and Tim, thanks for giving me the opportunity to know Dan. Teresa, I am feeling for you right now. My wife Patti is also fighting cancer and this is why I could not be there on Saturday...Dan would have told me to be with my wife. I will miss him so much.

I remember him from the First Presbyterian Church in Concord 1967-71. I was in the high school youth group and he and his first wife had our group over to their house a few times. He also came to Mission Springs youth retreat to talk to us. He was a very nice and smart man and he did a lot of good. Pat Jenkins Weisel, formerly of Concord, CA

To my Boatwright cousins, I am so very sorry for your loss. Your loss is shared by hundreds of thousands of grateful residents of California for Danny's many accomplishments and contributions resulting in improved transportation, education, health care, wine industry support, and so much more. Danny had such an amazing influence on everyone he met. My father, the staunch Republican that he was, worked on and supported his campaigns, encouraging others to vote for him over and over again. I was fortunate to have had several conversations with him over the phone where he described our ancestors arriving in the 1600's and later generations as provisioners in the Revolutionary War. I am able to be a member of D.A.R. due to his protection of our family's history and his encouraging me to join. What rich history we share and how proud all of his children must be of the legacy left by this wonderful, and most influential man. He was the rock of the Boatwright family, and of the State of California. Rest in peace dear cousin.
With love,
Sheral Speaks Schowe
