Papa,
You were the greatest grandpa in the whole world. I loved when you would play tag with your walker with us when we were at your house. I really really miss you and I loved seeing you at Hawley. I know you are having a great time in heaven, but we all miss you so much and wish you were still alive. Thanks for being there for us.
-Your loving granddaughter

JT,
I was just thinking about you and your dad and I was sorry to read about your dads passing.
I will always remember his warm smile, big hug, then without warning a dirty joke. Your dad was one character I'll never forget. I hope that all is well with you and your family. I still work for the Boy Scouts in Austin and I have fond memories of working with you and Jim and your dad. say hello to Jim for me.

I knew your Dad when I worked for Easter Seals in the early 90's. I went with him to a meeting in
L. Tahoe concerning the camp up there that he started and loved. I also visited him frequently after his heart surgery. He was a sage and a hero. I am so grateful to have known him. My love to your family.

Our Dear John, Mary and Family
I was so saddened by the news of John's passing. My mother, Dorothy Hatttich who loved John very much, her mother and father the late Walter and Nancy Hattich were so very devoted to John and loved him so very much. They held so much respect for John and all his devotion to Richmond and were so proud to have been a part of his life for so many years. John was always there for my family ,and attended all my families funerals which meant so much to me and my sister Diane. He was funny and had such a wonderful sense of humor, he will be greatly missed by all.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you Mary, your family and your brothers. I know Papa and Nan will be waiting for him at the Gates of Heaven,
God Bless All of You,
Deborah and George Olsen

Senator Nejedly was instrumental in helping to create the "Read to Live" project at the Orin Allen Youth Rehabilitation Facility in Byron in January 2001. He and his friend, Oliver Hale, of the Contra Costa Youth Council, have helped us make a difference in the lives of many learning-disabled young men. John will be remembered for his tireless efforts for at-risk kids!
