Heroes are remembered but Legends never die... Rodney, you were a true leader in every sense of the word. From our days at North Hollywood Little League to East Valley to Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Babe Ruth Baseball to High School you were always the standard bearer. I had the privilege of playing with and against you. It is great to read about all the wonderful things you did off the field. When your name comes up, I am going to remember you for all the great things. RIP my friend.

First met you Rod at giants spring training in Scottsdale in 1993. You signed autographs and talked with us for what seemed like hours. You were so gracious and humble. Thank you for that and all the great memories with the S.F. Giants. You will surely be missed!

I never met Rod personally, but my wife is a very good friend of Stacey and her mother. I remember watching Rod in relief appearances with both the Giants and Cubs, and being a Yankee fan, I wished that someday he would wear a Yankee uniform. From everything I had heard about him, he was a generous human being, a loving husband and father, and he will be sorely missed.
