I never knew this guestbook existed until this morning.
From the age of 6 ,when Gunsmoke first came on the air, to today, at the age of 64, I was/am awed by this man. Even as a child I knew that Matt Dillon and James Arness were the same person......kind, a bit shy, honorable and deserving of admiration. I was notified of his passing by a high school classmate whom I had not been in contact with for over 50 years. He remembered how I loved Marshal Dillon and wanted to console me. One of my favorite episodes of Gunsmoke was, "Matt's Love Story." To this day, I would have walked through fire to have played the part that Michael Learned had.
Security would would have had to been called because of my adoration for him.
Mr. Arness, may God bless your beautiful soul and may He comfort your wife and all your loved ones.
