Vale Richard.
Sunday, 25 March 2012
I listened to Richard playing the Barber Concerto, second movement on u tube;the playing was so beautiful and I really thought what incredible talent and just how amazing he is;then I found out what happened. This boy put everything into his playing ,and produced such amazing sound. What a beautiful boy. I cannot believe it.An absolute inspiration to everyone.God bless him and his parents.
Sincerely,
Sue Howard(Sydney,NSW)

I knew Richard's parents at University in the 1970s. This message is for Patricia and Philip. Your son seems to have been such an inspiration to you and others and his awards and memorials will live forever.

I knew Richard when he was 4 and had violin lessons from Patricia for 3 years around then too. I heard the gut wrenchingly awful news last week and still can't comprehend it - I feel desperately sorry for you, Patricia. They say every cloud has a silver lining, but I just can't see one. Richard was one of our most promising stars. I know he had already achieved a lot in 25 years, but I wish there could have been much more to come. It is not easy to raise a gifted musician like Richard - we may not see another one for many decades. I will always remember Richard as the clever 4 yr old who proudly proclaimed "Baaargiaeeiinn!" every time he saw a 'Bargain' sign while being driven around. Patricia and Philip - I won't be able to make the memorial service tomorrow but please know that you are in my thoughts every day and have my deepest sympathy.

Although we did not know you personally, you opened your heart and soul when you played your violin. You had a wonderful gift and we will always remember the joy you gave to all those who heard you play. Our deepest and heart felt love and prayers are with you Patricia and Philip. Love from the Forrest Family
