Daniel Wilkinson Jr
AGE: 57 • Sicklerville
Daniel Wilkinson Jr. passed away at home in Sicklerville, N.J. on Sunday November 3, 2013 in the early morning. Dan was born and raised in Camden, N.J. He was the son of Sarah Witherspoon and Daniel Wilkinson Sr. He was a graduate of the Camden High School class of 1973 and went on to receive an Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement from Camden County College. He later became a police officer for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of N.J. (UMDNJ). He married in 1978 and had two children. Dan had many passions in his life including cooking, gardening, and music. He had a natural gift for playing percussion instruments, and excelled at the Conga drums. He was an active member of the praise team at South Jersey Bible Church International in Pitman, NJ where he offered his musical talents. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and watching both sci-fi and old western movies. All that knew and loved him knew he enjoyed the company of his family (especially his grands) and was always ready to exchange in a debate regardless of the subject. In his more recent years he worked at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital in Winslow Twp., N.J. where he was a staff favorite with the residents there. On Saturdays he could be found walking his dog Patch or shopping at the nearest flea market looking for a good deal.
He is survived by his long term companion Ms. Mylah Hickerson. He is also survived by his stepmother Cyrethia Wilkinson of Camden, N.J., his son Daniel M. Wilkinson and daughter Diandra L. Robinson, both of Atlanta, GA, his sisters Sandra Beulah Williams of Loganville, GA, and Terry Louise Wilkinson of Camden, N.J., and brother Tracey Wilkinson of San Antonio, TX. We were saddened to learn of Aggie's passing.I remember the last time I saw him; it was at Parkside U.M. Church. He came in to look for his cousin, and when I saw him, I said "hi, Aggie". He said anyone calling him that name was someone he knew from back in the day!! It was so good seeing him that day; he still had that smile. May God comfort the family, and keep you in His care!! Sorrowfully, Marvin and Neva Taylor.
