Henry C. McGettigan
AGE: 96 • Westmont
On May 16, 2014, a resident of Westmont, NJ since 1945. Age 96 years. Beloved husband of 69 years to the late Geraldine A. McGettigan (nee Twomey). Dear father of Geraldine (Joseph) Woods, Clare (James) Wisor and Theresa (Thomas) Miller. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and his sister, Mary Duffy. Predeceased by a brother, Thomas McGettigan and sister, Anna Deckard.
Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in the Fairview section of Camden, NJ, Henry was a 1935 graduate of Camden Catholic High School, where he captained the baseball team. After high school, he enlisted in the Army and was a WWII veteran, participating in the European Theatre of Operations, including Normandy, Rhineland and the Battle of the Bulge. Henry was also a member and past commander of Tatem-Shields Post #17 American Legion, Collingswood and past Camden County Commander. He was a longtime employee of Transport of NJ, a longtime parishioner of Holy Saviour Church since 1945 and a 50 year member of the Men of Malvern.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday 9:30 to 10:45 AM from Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Holy Saviour Church, 50 Emerald Ave., Westmont, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Interment Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran's Mem. Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.

Harry was a wonderful person, loved life to the fullest. Loved family, this was something very dear to his heart.I only knew Harry for a short time, we have became very close, we were just like family.Had the opportunity to meet Harry's wonderful family whom loved him dearly.
