Mrs. Pat, Lori, and family,
It has been so hard to believe that Will is gone. One must think he is laughing with Grandpa or maybe I should say "Santa Claus Jim" Yelling and discussing all the changes that had occurred at once was known as Santa Claus Land with a few attractions. He is also chatting with his father Bill and letting him know that everything has been left in good hands for the next generation. God Speed.

First, I'd like to extend my deepest sympathy to Mr Koch's family. A tragic loss indeed. Secondly, I want them to know that my Nana took me to "Santa Claus Land" and then "Holiday World" every single year growing up. Rudolph lake was a great picnic spot & she used to let me swim a little to cool off before returning to the park for more rides & fun. Wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. What Mr Koch and his family have done to grow the park is phenomenal. A wonderful place to visit, if you haven't ever been there and....don't forget to go back every so often and take a trip down memory lane for those of us who grew up there.
June 16, 2010

We were so shocked to hear of Will's sudden death.
Today we have been remembering your lovely wedding day. My Dad, your Uncle Bert, my Don, and I were there. Mother, your Aunt Dorothy stayed in Logansport with your Aunt Dodo Leffert. It was such a sweet day. Nickie carried your rings and fell asleep I think in your Mother's lap. Sunday they were all there in Heaven greeting Will as he passed through the Golden Gates.
Tonie and Matthew visited Holiday World several times. Will was such a gracious, friendly dear man.

I was Saddend to hear the Will had passed away, I've know his family since they decided to build the Raven coaster. Having sat down with him and just talked amusement park things was a really great treat. He would always ask me on things that might improve the park. Will is setting in the front seat of the big coaster in the sky.

June 15, 2010
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the privilege of meeting Will on one of our many visits to Holiday World. At the time, I didn't realize how you spelled Koch. My great grandfather was Wilhelm Koch. So, who knows maybe we are related. Anyway, I remember thinking how wonderful it was that this seemingly humble man met us as we entered the park. What a special person who seemed to understand that all I wanted was a clean, safe, fun park for my three sons to enjoy. It was ALWAYS worth the drive. I will miss seeing his smiling face. Heaven is all the better for his presence. God speed Will.
June 15, 2010
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

I was impressed with the changes that had been made by Will and your family to make the park a great place to have fun for the whole family. May God Bless You! Will may the angels meet you at the gate and lead you to paradise.

Although I do not know the Koch family personally, I have enjoyed going to Holiday World for several years and as a kindergarten teacher listen each year to all the children who love to go there. Please accept our deepest sympathy in this time of mourning. Many, many boys and girls have enjoyed what he has helped to build and Holiday World will be a lasting tribute to him. May God bless you.

I have worked at the park for 2 years now. When Paula Werne posted him and his Darth Vader on May the Fourth, I got really happy. Not only did he make the greatest theme park ever a whole lot better but he loved Star Wars too. Will Koch is also the greatest boss anyone could ask for. I will miss him so much. Thanks Will, for making Holiday World & Santa Claus, IN a whole lot brighter.

Dear Lori,

I am so sorry to hear about Will. I am priviledged to have known Will. Although it has been 20 years since I have worked at Holiday World, I remember the summer shows and Santafest fondly. Will was very helpful with helping to show me how to use the mixing board and light board for the shows. May God Bless you and your family. You are in my prayers.

May God bless Will and his family in this difficult time. Hopefully the memories will live forever.
Sincerely,

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
I remember working working for Will while I was in high school. I learned a lot serving dinners in the Christmas Room, and working at Young Abe Lincoln.
He will be missed.
June 15, 2010
I appreciated Will's counsel on how to ride the coasters easily as I, too, am an insulin pump wearer. He even made suggestions on where to place my glucose sensor for optimum comfort. Having visited Holiday World for Holiwood Nights less than two weeks ago makes this hard to accept but I am grateful for the time he spent with me and the commitment he and his family have made to thousands of people who look to their World with joy and love. Pat, we keep you and your family in our thoughts and will be back to enjoy your family legacy soon.
June 15, 2010
My family was just down to Holiday World for the JDRF walk. Will and his mother Pat were there to kick off the walk. It meant a lot to me to see them so involved with this (It was our first time). Our deepest sympathies go out to this family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Our condolences go out to the Koch family. Will was a true visionary. As the parents of a T1 13 year old pumper we are saddened that this disease continues to take lives, but are also inspired by what Mr. Koch accomplished even with the obstacles T1 throws into your life. Hopefully thru his work with the JDRF and the continued work and support of others, we can end this horrid disease. Rest in peace Mr. Koch. Our prayers are with the family.
June 15, 2010
Our condolences go out to the Koch family. We are huge fans of Holiday World...he had great vision. We are also the parents of a T1. The challenges are great, and it is inspiring to see what he has done in spite of the obstacles that go with a T1 diagnosis. Your family will be in our prayers.

Often, it's only after our loved ones are gone that we realize the impact on everyone's lives. Will served for years on Indiana's Fire Prevention & Building Safety Commission. His legacy has touched not only his immediate family, but families across this nation. Will's presence will still be felt at Holiday World. I will miss Will and his smile.
June 15, 2010
Thanks, Will for sharing your dreams so that my family can make theirs! You are truly God's gift.
June 15, 2010
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
June 15, 2010
My heart and prayers are with the Koch family, Holiday World family and the whole community. I had the joy of working for Will when I was younger. With him and his mother as employers, it wasn't a job, it was being paid to have fun and feel like part of the family. Will's tireless dedication to the improvement of his community, and his care of others is something we could all strive for. May his legacy live on forever.
June 15, 2010
Growing up in Lincoln City, I spent many days at Holiday World, it is so amazing at the changes that came every year do to Mr.Koch. I was able to get my pic taken with him and his mom. May god be with his family as they mourn the loss of their loved one!
June 15, 2010
I worked at Holiday World in 2000 & 2001 and despite my being the bottom of the totem pole in the workplace, Will treated me as his equal, always greeting me by name whenever he saw me and even laughing with me about things that came up on the job. My first day back at work after I had been injured hitting a deer on the way to work, he even came by the ride I was running to welcome me back. As I told my roommate about how Will and how lucky I had been to have had him as my first CEO, my roommate observed that good bosses were hard to find. They are, and there's one less of them now that Will's gone. R.I.P. Will, I will always remember you fondly and miss you greatly. The Koch family will be in my thoughts and prayers, but they are an amazing family with a strong faith and I know they'll be ok; I just hope they find some comfort in this painful time.

Our Grandson, Colten, has had Type 1 Diabetes for three years and it has been quite an adjustment for us all, especially for Colten. Approximentally two years ago, getting ready for the annual walk at Holiday World. We were Blessed and encouraged to hear, Will Koch speak with such encouragement about his hope and prayers for a cure for Diabetes. That gave us all hope, and now we want to extend to his wonderful family the Blessed Hope of being reunited together oneday with " Jesus" and "no" Diabetes.

May God help the Koch family and his extended family at Holiday World and Splashin' Safari find peace and comfort during this difficult time. I grieve especially for Pat Koch. She is a wonderful person and has no idea how much she taught me during my summer working at Holiday World in the early 90's. I remember things she told me at my interview and she taught me how to be a good employee. The picture with Pat welcoming the guests into Holiday World this morning brought tears to my eyes. Will Koch will be missed by so many.

Will Koch took the time to look
and see what families needed to
enjoy each other,a place of fun and
enjoyment. He gave families a
time to stop and smell the roses and
make fond memories forever.
June 14, 2010
I am very sorry to hear of this. I had known Will since he was very young when his mother, Pat, would bring him to the Lake Rudolph beach where I was a lifeguard for Santa Claus land in the 1960s. He was always helpful with his younger brothers and sisters. He made Holiday World into a great attraction and has been a great asset to the community and the Lincoln Parks. My feelings and prayers go out to Will and his family.

June 14, 2010
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. Love Holiday World and every time we have been there we have seen Will walking around the park.
June 14, 2010
My heart goes out to the Koch family.

The park was fantastic. The leadership exemplar. Will Koch will be missed greatly by all.

Diabetes is a disease that spares no age group or socio-economic class. While I'm sure Will took care of himself, Diabetes has devastating consequences even for those who blood glucose is 'in control'.

More funds for researh to find a cure are necessary to avoid these tragedies where a young person is taken before their time.

God bless the Koch family during their time of need. May God comfort them and ease their pain during this difficult time.
June 14, 2010
Pat,
My daughter was tragically lost at age 17 in 2008, she had worked at Holiday World for 3years, loving every minute of it. Will and your family have given so much to the youth of our local area and Will's efforts will not be forgotten. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, May GOD Bless and be with you all during the difficult times ahead

June 14, 2010
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
June 14, 2010
Will Koch's legacy will live on in the park that he shaped and molded into one of my favorite places. He was definitely a hands-on owner. His behavior was modeled by every employee. Whatever needed to be done, he would do it, to include playing the bass with the Beachcombers. I would see him walking all over the park and he would always take the time to talk to park goers. My family and I will miss seeing him around. Thank you Will Koch. God Speed.
June 14, 2010
What a huge loss to the entire theme park industry and the Tri-State. Holiday World was one of our favorite places. It was always a pleasure working with Will, his dear Mom and the staff. He will be greatly missed and remembered forever. Love and prayers from your friends here on the southeast coast.
June 14, 2010
Will Koch, you have left a great legacy. My prayers and thoughts are with your family at this very sad time. May God provide your family with love, peace, and support. You are truly in a much better place. Shelley Savchuk, Goshen, IN.
June 14, 2010
rip will u will be greatly missed
June 14, 2010
I have been going to Holiday World for nearly 50 years - back when it was still Santa Claus Land. I met Will because he attended high school with my former husband, and he was personable, friendly, and outgoing as well as a savvy businessman. Will and his mother Pat were always so nice to our family - and we observed them treating everyone at the park just as well. Will had an amazing dream for Holiday World, and he made it come true. He was a wonderful businessman - but a kid at heart. He will be missed.
June 14, 2010
My prayers and sympathy are extended to the Koch family. May God grant them comfort and strength.
June 14, 2010
I WAS BORN IN 1946 THE SAME YEAR SANTA CLAUS LAND OPENED. WE ONLY TOOK ONE VACATION BUT DAD ALLWAYS MADE SURE WE GET TO SANTA CLAUS LAND EACH CHRISTMAS.
ONE OF THE THINGS I WILL ALLWAY REMIMBER. MY WIFE DID NOT GET TO GO UNTIL SHE WENT WITH OUR BOYS AND THE SCHOOL. WHAT A PLACE FOR FAMILY FUN.
THE KOCH FAMILY HAS DONE SO MUCH FOR SO MANY.I HAD ATTENDED CAMP KOCH AS A CHILD. WISH THE FAMILY WELL.
June 14, 2010
As a juvenile diabetic with an insulin pump myself - I feel this is just awful. It tells of the devastation of the disease. Rest in peace Will Koch, and long live Holiday World!
June 14, 2010
Will Koch was an amazing man. My family had the pleasure of meeting Will on a trip to Holiday World a few years ago. Many park goers did not realize the CEO of the company was walking around helping on every task imaginable. I knew who he was and was impressed. What touched my heart was that he saw a young lost boy crying, picked him up and spent the next hour helping locate his parents. He did not hand that task to an employee, as he wanted to make the boy feel safe. He was kind, compassionate and humble. The world is a much better place because of Will Koch.
June 14, 2010
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Koch family. Thank you for giving families a place to laugh and play. God bless you.
June 14, 2010
