James Allen Dame, Sr.

James Allen "Jim" Dame, Sr., 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2013 with his wife, Geraldine, at his side.
Jim was born July 6, 1934, in Hopkins County, KY to Allen H. and Connie (Clayton) Dame. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Jim was the partial owner of the Old Fashion Butcher Shoppe for 18 years. For the past 5 years, he has served as supervisor of the soup kitchen at the Salvation Army in Evansville.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Geraldine (Simmons) Dame; daughter, Jerri Ann McGillem (Wayne); 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Allen Dame, Jr.; parents; brothers, Gary and Eddy Dame and brother-in-law, Bob Chambers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Major David Meeks officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 pm until 7 pm, Tuesday, March 26, 2013 and from 10 am until service time, Wednesday, at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel.

My sincere condolences to Mr. Dames family. Jim was my boss back in 1975/76 at the old Farmers Daughter's restaurant. He was an awesome employer.I had a lot of admiration for this man. Praying God gives you comfort at this time of need.
