Dad was an exceptional, but humble man. I worked in his office from ages 13-18 which gave me great experience for my later entry into the working world on my own.
He was loving, generous, caring, and kind, with intelligence and foresight that was mind-boggling. I could listen to his stories over and over again.
He and Mom both set wonderful examples for their children: Bev, Tom, Tim and Jim.
My friends used to tease me some because when I spoke about him, I tended to put him up on a pedestal. They could tell that I was very proud of my Father.
The love my parents had for each other never wavered; their bond was solid and secure. They were married for 57 years when Mom died at age 75 on 12/27/2007. That was the most tragic day of my life.
I am numb from losing Dad, but the grief has been easier to bear with all the kind thoughts, prayers, and sympathy from my family, friends, neighbors and past co-workers.
He loved and was loved. He had a full and happy life with varied interests and cherished each day.
I believe that Dad is now reunited with Mom and that they can start this new phase of their existence together in Heaven, free from pain and worry.
...his loving daugher, Bev.

Dr Colvin was our family Dr for many years. As a child I remember his big booming voice ( rather scared me at first) but he was so gentle and kind. I loved his nurse as well. My heartfelt sympathies to the family. Keep his memories close to your heart. I will always remember him as a kind and intelligent Dr.

I remember well Dr. Colvin's frequent and sometimes controversial letters to the editors of the Courier and the Press when I was a child and teen in Evansville. He was truly devoted to the civic well-being of the city and provided a much needed voice for the things he believed in. I was so excited to meet him (a friend of mine lived next door) -- a charming man with a sense of humor and a great and obvious love of life. My condolences to his family and his many, many friends.

Thank you all for you kind memories. My Dad saved the life of my Daughter and wife from bad diagnoses in California. He is my mentor, Father and dear friend. We will miss him.
