Lisa Ruby was our neighbor when we purchased our first home in South Walton. She was such a nice person and a good neighbor. After we moved, I would see her from time to time around town. She was always so friendly and always wore a smile. I will miss her! Gone too soon.

The image of Lisa that I most remember was from the 2nd or 3rd grade. It was after recess and we were all running to line up at the sound of a teacher's bell. Lisa, being one of the shortest, if not the shortest girl in our grade was running as fast as she could. She was first, I was second or third, but in a different line. What I can remember most was the moment she turned to look at me. Her hair was a huge triangle of curls and she was smiling and beaming and glowing. Like most everything she attempted in school and in life, she gave it her all. I knew at that moment that I wanted to be her friend. She was and has always been that bright smiling star! xo Harriet Cook-a-Book
