A nation mourns the loss of a great man and leader. I had the priviledge and honor to serve under General Schwarzkopf in J6 during DESERT SHIELD/STORM. Firm but fair, he always put the troops first. Before the days of email and Skype, his leadership to field the Phone Home program became the biggest morale booster of the war for the troops. I owe much to that experience and to the leadership of General H. Norman Schwarzkopf. We could use leadership and men of his caliber now. My deepest sympathy to the family and a final salute to General Schwarzkopf. RIP. Godspeed.

I was in my early twenties when Desert Storm was announced. I remember feeling safer because the General was on our side. I want to thank his family for sharing him with this country. I can only imagine the sacrifices you have had to make, please remember we in the USA are all better for his service. All my sympathy to his family and close friends.
