Raymond A. Bender, 82, of Homosassa, Fla., and formerly of Carlisle, died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at home under the care of his family and the Hospice of Citrus County.
Born on Feb. 23, 1924, in Loysville, he was the son of the late Louis R. and Margaret (Kling) Bender.
Raymond was a retired purchasing agent contracting officer for the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot in Mechanicsburg. After his retirement he moved to Homosassa from Carlisle. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa; and a life member of VFW Post No. 7343 and American Legion Post No. 674 of Carlisle.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Zilpha G. (Thrush) Bender of Homosassa; a daughter, Beverly Bender of Homosassa; a sister, Faye Jumper of Inverness, Fla.; a cousin and his wife, Dale and Dottie Rogers of Homosassa; and a nephew and his wife, David and Ardie Bender of Georgia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Barnitz United Methodist Church in Carlisle or to the Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.

I am so sorry to hear of your husband/fathers passing. You may not remember me I was Sandy Lescalleet and we were neighbors more or less when Beverly and I were kids.
