George (Goober) Lindsey had a great and natural gift for making folks laugh. He is another of the "Great Ones" to leave us. Well done George...rest easy now.

Always proud to say you were from Jasper Al my hometown. Had the honor of meeting you at the Arrow Shirt factory we made you a shirt of many fabrics and you were grecious enough to wear it on tv. Everybody loves Goober and will miss him, but thank God for reruns. Rest in peace George. And yes George's best friend was Sapo Black of Jasper Al.

I literally grew up on the moral ethics and wonderful stories told through the Andy Griffith Show, and Goober was a great part of it. Thank you Goober, for the laughter and the wonderful memories you gave me, not only through the TV series, but through everything you did. God bless the family of Goober Lindsey.

I waited on Miss Alice, Miss Ethel and Lucille for many years at First Federal in Jasper. He was their life along with his cousin. I had several occasions to meet Mr. Lindsey and he was a sweet man. Alice and Ethel were larger than life characters, and I wondered many times if he drew some of his characterizations from their antics.

Thanks for the memories. I love the fact that my kids watch "The Andy Griffith Show" as much as I did as a child. So many solid truths are communicated through the show and the hearts of the characters and actors themselves. May God bless the Lindsey family in their time of loss.
