You will never be forgotten.
I finally summoned the strength to read this obituary and it's like salt on an open wound. Everything that is being said holds so much truth in the type of kind, generous, and respectful young man Jeff was. I always used to tell him that I hoped my son would grow up to be like him. I am grateful for having his presence in our Navajo Prep family and I do hope we can move forward living our lives how he lived his everyday. He will greatly be missed.
We're finally over our shock..please know that we are sorry we couldn't make it to the funeral. Tears were shed and still our hearts are heavy. Respectfully, The Max Family

Although I did not have in him in class at Navajo Prep, I often saw Jefferson at events, between classes and I knew him as a first class student and athlete. He was one of the friendliest and polite young men that I have ever met. He will be missed. My prayers go out to his family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Jefferson's Family. He was such a nice and caring person. He was always helping out people in any way he could. I was very fortunate to have a cousin like him. He will be missed dearly.
RIP Jefferson...My condolences to the family of Jefferson Joe,Jr. May the Lord Jesus comfort you all and give you strength in this difficult time for the family. Your Nav. Prep. driver.
It was with our utmost pleasure to know Jefferson. My oldest son played sports with him, my youngest son ran for Mr. Atsa Hastiin and received encouraging words for participating since there were only two candidates, and the funny and inquisitive my husband and I had with him at various student activities, will always remain in my family's heart, mind, and spirits. Yesterday, my husband and youngest son sang in honor for Jeff, Mohave Bird songs. May our Creator be with family and may our Creator continue to be with our Son, Nephew, Grandson, and Friend, Jefferson Joe, Jr. The Stevens Family: Monte Sr., Larita, Waylan, and Monte Jr.
I am honored to have met such a respectful, driven, intelligent young man during my time at NPS. He would workout in the NPS fitness center everyday, he would even go as far to find me to open it up for him. Jefferson had an ongoing joke for me to spot him, we both knew that was a bad idea lol.
I will remember his smile, laughter, role model stature he possessed and his big heart everyone who knew him is well aware of.
My prayers are with his family, friends, and the NPS family.
I'm going to miss Jefferson, he use to always get up early in the morning like 4am and he'll greet me in Navajo. He use to make coffee and shared a cup with me. He was very Respectful and carried himself well. He helped his classmates to respecting his Navajo culture. He did have a Big Heart and he didn't mind me calling him my son in Navajo; My Yaazh..My heart aches, but I will Pray for his parents and families as well for all his Friends and Family at Navajo Prep..RIP Jeff love Miss Judy Kinlicheenie-RA sub
May Jeff rest in peace. We may not of talked to him a lot, but he did. And for that he was still our friend. He was always nice, and is now in heaven with his family. We've made a video to honor Jeff. Hopefully it will give hope to his family and friends.
We didn't know Jeff that well and may not have spoke to him a lot, by we remember that he was a nice person and said hello to everybody. I know The Lord will have welcomed such a great person into the light. Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
Condolences to Jeff's family. I will definitely miss him coming into my classroom every morning with a warm greeting. He was a respectful young man and will never be forgotten.
