Anne Hansford Obituary

Anne Hansford died on Sunday, leaving behind San?Pedro's meticulously organized archives over which she presided for two decades.
Whether you were looking for an obscure photo of Sixth Street from the early 1900s or the history of the California bungalow you just bought, Hansford had it all at her fingertips somewhere in Room?505 in San?Pedro's City Hall.
She was 83 and died at home following a brief illness.

To the Family of Anne Hansford,

My deepest sympathy to all of you. I met Mrs. Hansford at Leland Street Elementary School. She came very often to volunteer at the school library. She was a wealth of information to all. Kind and dutiful, she will be missed very much. Another angel in heaven.

To Wesley and his brothers;
Having known your mother my entire life, I have great respect for this fabulous woman. She was a kind ear, a gentle reprimand and a loving generous person!!! All those times she volunteered at Grandview United Methodist Church, being the kindergarten teacher at GUMC and the countless boutiques, luncheons, dinners and more, you could always count on Anne!!! Even seeing her in the attendance office at SPHS. Loved that woman!!! I am so glad you boys had her with you for so many years. God has a very special place waiting for Anne of that I am sure. Cherish your memories!!! Love you guys!! Lucinda Gunn-Traughber, Nipomo, CA

To the Hansford family: I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Anne very long but she made big impression on me. The first time I met her was at the archives asking questions about San Pedro. She knew where the answer was to my questions. Every time I would call and talk to her she was so helpful. You will be in my prayers.
Sincerely, Becky McDonald

I knew Ann when I attended Grandview United Methodist Church from 1993 to 2003. She was a sweet lady, always willing to lend a helpful hand or a kind word when needed.

I have known Anne my entire life as she was one of my mothers best friends. My mom gave me the middle name of Anne to honor her friend. I have always been amazed at her abilities and have strived to emulate her. Such a strong woman! She will be missed by all who knew her.
