I am missing my friend and neighbor George. Rest in Peace.

One of the most real people I have ever known.

George was a generous and bright gentleman. It was an honor spending a few moments of his life and listening through his stories with great detail. He was blessed with a sharp memory. He talked a lot about his family, especially about being the proudest father and grandfather.

My deepest condolences and prayers to George's family. He will be an inspiration to all of us.

George and Ruth were my neighbors growing up in Torrance and were always so very nice. I used to dog-sit their wired-hair dachshund, Porsche, when they'd go on vacations. I'd come over a few times a day to play with her, sitting under the guava tree in their front yard which still grows there. For this very fun job they paid me generously.

I also remember getting sick at school once when Mom was at a doctor's appointment. Ruth picked me up from school and brought me back to her house where she gave me juice and put a great picture-book album (yes, a 33 LP) on the stereo about the story of the Turtle and the Hare. Needless to say I wasn't worried about when Mom would come.

George was a very kind man with a great smile and generous nature. The last time I saw him was a few years ago when he stopped by the house to say hi while visiting his old house which he rented. He looked great and seemed to be doing well. Mom and I were very sad to hear he passed but are happy he was surrounded by family and that it was a peaceful passing. He had a good long life, and now it's on to continue that good long life with Ruth.

Blessings to both Ruth & George, and our deepest sympathies to the entire Cambon family.
