Our hearts are saddened by your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I was a batboy in the 60's for Glenn Millers Garage.Fast Pitch Softball was at its peak.I remember Joe playing first base and I remember his bat a no-name model, brown, big and fat.I remember a Banning Park Jamboree and my Uncle Jesse Ramirez had invited the Queen and Her Court. Most the umpires were current "fast pitch" hitters, Joe was one of the guys that got an at bat, he toyed with that pitcher as did the rest of the Wilmington guys.I remember when my Dad picked up Johnny Cantu and Manuel Cantu he was happy to have the 3 of them on the team.God Bless and Thanks for the memories.
Martha & Family,
Rey & I send our love & prayers to all of you.

All you had to do was watch Joe at a family gathering to see how much he truly loved his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Sending comforting hugs.
I first met Joe while playing softball at Hamilton Bowl in Long Beach. Joe was playing for La Flor and I was with Glenn Miller Garage. This was a big rivalry but a friendly rivalry mainly because of our Managers.Joe was a very good first baseman he was a true gentleman on and off the field and a strong competitor. I vision Joe and Dickie Mendez hanging out in Heaven tossing the ball around. Our prayers and condolesences go out to The Cantu Family.
