Jim was a couple of years ahead of me at Dorsey High, but as I began my career at that school, I soon learned what a fine young man he was. He never knew that he was one of a few heros that I respected and hoped to emulate in some small way. I sat next to Mary in Mr. Jaffray's chemistry class at Dorsey. She was an incredibly sweet girl so I can understand why they would make such a fine couple.

Dear Linda and Jennifer,

Jim's classroom at Torrance High School backed up to mine and we shared a lab office for many years. He was a fine man, a loving husband and father, and a dedicated educator. I was able to enjoy many conversations with him about the world of education, teaching science, coaching football, and the daily issues of life. He will always be remembered.

Always willing to volunteer and help out. He worked with the California Association of Directors of Activities for many years. He was CADA president in 1971 and was responsible for the organizations 7th Annual conference in 1970. His theme of "New Directions - A Positive Approach" holds true today. He will be missed.

I will always hold a special place in my heart for Jim (and his wonderful wife Mary). As a Past President of CADA, he was there to assist and support me. His kind words were always so positive and I truly enjoyed all of his CADA stories. I am honored to have been a member of his CADA family. He will be greatly missed. My love and sympathies to his family.
